Abraao de Carvalho
Position: Head of Unit, DG Enterprise and Industry - European Commission
Since March 2006, Abraão Carvalho has been the Head of the Unit in the Enterprise and Industry DG, dealing with metals, minerals and raw materials.
In this capacity, he was responsible for the coordination of the work that led to the adoption of the Raw Materials Initiative and subsequent implementation actions. He is also in charge of the competitiveness aspects related to the steel, non-ferrous, cement, glass and ceramic industries.
In previous posts during his career in the Commission, he was in charge of other units dealing with different type of sectors varying from aerospace to pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.
